: Family Worship and Daily Faithfulness | Deuteronomy 6 Biblical Parenting
Family worship is not an optional extra for Christian homes—it is one of God's ordinary means of discipleship. In this Wisdom Wednesday episode with Rocky Stevenson Pastor of Benoni Bible Church, we explore the biblical call to daily faithfulness in the home from Deuteronomy 6:4–9, where parents are instructed to teach God's Word diligently to their children throughout the rhythms of everyday life.
We consider how Scripture shapes family life through Bible reading, prayer, singing, memorisation, and intentional discipleship. Drawing from passages such as Psalm 78:1–8, Colossians 3:16, Ephesians 6:4, 2 Timothy 3:14–15, and 1 John 1:9, we examine why Christian parents must make the Word of God central in their homes and how even simple, consistent practices can have a lasting spiritual impact.
This episode also offers practical encouragement for families who may feel overwhelmed or discouraged. Family worship does not need to be complicated or lengthy. Whether it is reading a Psalm, discussing a Proverb, memorising a verse, singing a hymn, or praying together, daily faithfulness helps cultivate a Christ-centred home.
Join us as we rediscover the biblical pattern of family worship and consider how ordinary faithfulness today can bear fruit for generations to come.
