A Grade 9 learner who underwent surgery after an alleged corporal punishment incident at Tembisa West Secondary has returned to the school she initially left. Her mother says the learner was transferred to another school, but was brought back after being told there was no plan to help her catch up on months of missed work while recovering. The learner is still attending physiotherapy and fears victimisation, while the teacher accused in the assault case has allegedly pleaded guilty in an internal disciplinary process.
