The Rory Kostin Foundation is a Namibian non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for disability inclusion, promoting neurodiversity awareness, and securing advanced therapeutic care for children with complex neurological needs and learning differences. Founded in August 2023 by wellness advocate and author Anthea Kostin, the foundation was born out of her family's personal journey caring for her daughter, Rory, who survived bacterial meningitis as an infant and was left with a severe brain injury. The organization operates heavily across community advocacy, specialized healthcare expansion, and inclusive education.Core Mission and InitiativesTherapy Access Sponsorship: Partners with specialized groups like Beyond Barriers Paediatric Studio to sponsor child-centered neurodevelopmental therapies for under-resourced families.Community Care Support: Directs funding and resources to community programs, including the Sunshine Disability Center, to improve infrastructure for regional disability care.Systemic Health Advocacy: Raises public and legislative awareness regarding Namibia's critical shortages in localized pediatric neurological therapies, seeking to minimize the need for families to seek treatment abroad. The "Read with Rory" Literacy SeriesTo amplify the representation of neurodiverse children, the foundation runs the Read with Rory book series. The First Title: In 2025, the foundation launched its debut children's book, “Mysterious Book of Magic: Affirmations for Kids,” which utilizes affirming narratives designed to reflect children navigating sensory processing and physical boundaries.Funding Model: A portion of all proceeds from the book series—distributed through regional networks such as Exclusive Books and PNA outlets—directly finances assistive tools and caregiving networks.Future Pipeline: The literary initiative plans to expand over the next two years to target alternative, non-verbal communication methods and mobility concepts.
