The Executive Mayor of Polokwane municipality Councillor John Mpe has apologised to residents under the municipality who have been affected by power outages. Mpe says he does acknowledge that people deserve better services and a quick response to such challenges like power outages. He says there are unfortunately some incidents that are beyond the control of the municipality as they are nature related like storms and floods. Councillor Mpe was responding to the statement by the Democratic Alliance where the party's councillor Pretorius said that they will write a letter to the municipal manager Thuso Nemugumoni to demand action regarding the persistent power outages.
