Veteran administrator and sports lawyer Raymond Hack has given credit to Dr Irvin Khoza, Dr Kaizer Motaung, Jomo Sono, Cyril Kobus and others for their bravery and visionary leadership in professionalising football in South Africa.
Hack was part of the team that formed the NSL after they defected from the NPSL that was led by George Thabe in 1985.
Speaking in the 122nd episode of the Arena Sports Show, that is hosted by Clauiee Grace Mpanza and Mahlatse Mphahlele, Hack went down memory lane on a journey that had its fair share of ups and downs.
He said they rebelled against Thabe who wanted to make constitutional changes and looking at the way the PSL has grown in leaps and bounds, he they do not have any regrets.
Hack, who had roles at Fifa and Caf, was also involved at Wits University where he worked with astute administrators like Prof Ronnie Schloss, Derek Blanckensee and George Mogotsi.
He spoke about the tragedy that saw the demise of Wits one year shy of the legendary club reaching 100 years of existence.
