A recent study has found that migraines and tension headaches are among the most common causes of lost work time in South Africa.
Dr. Elliot Shevel, South Africa's migraine surgery pioneer and director of The Headache Clinic, says most doctors are unable to diagnose headaches.
Dr. Shevel says although migraines are not life threatening, in the vast majority of cases employers should have a greater understanding for workers who suffer from this condition.
