On People of Note this week, Rodney Trudgeon will be talking to Denis Goldberg who is well known as one of the Rivonia trialists, an anti-apartheid activist and a member of Umkohnto we Sizwe. Denis was sentenced to 22 years in prison separated from his black colleagues like Nelson Mandela on Robben Island, and sent to a prison in Pretoria. Since his release he has continued to be a much sought after speaker both locally and internationally and supports a number of local projects both musically and otherwise.
Denis has recently released his autobiography and as part of the recent Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival, he had music written for him by Matthijs van Dijk during which Denis narrated from his autobiography.
