Rodney Trudgeon’s guest on People of Note this week is the young South African born, London based baritone William Berger who is in Cape Town to sing the role of Escamillo in Cape Town Opera’s forthcoming production of Bizet’s 'Carmen'. William is enjoying a hugely successful international career in the UK, Europe and America both on the opera stage in the recital studio. He has been hailed by the prestigious Gramophone Magazine as “one of the best younger baritones” who is distinguished by a rich vocal timber and a charismatic stage presence.
