Kimberley - A 35-year-old Kimberley cash loan operator was this week sentenced to 18 months in prison after she was arrested with three others for contravening section 40 (3) of the National Credit Act 34 of 2005. Hawks spokesperson Philani Nkwalase says Jennifer Mia and three other suspects were arrested while withdrawing money from an ATM in Long Street with their clients’ cards on February 28. He says she was found in the possession of 67 SASSA, bank and Easypay cards. More than R14 000 cash, which was withdrawn from the clients’ accounts, was also found on her. Nkwalase says Mia pleaded guilty and was fined R4000.
