Northern Cape Police thwart planned robberies

Hartswater - Northern Cape Police have thwarted planned robberies in Hartswater by arresting one armed suspect. Spokesperson Mohale Ramatseba says police received a tipoff of the planned robberies on Friday and followed up on the information. He says members of the police arrested the men, and recovered two rifles from the suspect. Ramatseba says it is alleged that the weapons were to be used to commit robberies in and around Hartswater. He adds that the suspect will appear in the local magistrates court tomorrow on charges of being possession of illegal firearms.
