What promises to be a fascinating presentation at the Youngblood gallery on 21st September is ESCAPE – THE INGRID JONKER STORY. The show is the brainchild of the Cape Town based jazz singer and teacher Nicky Shrire who was captivated by a selection of poems by Ingrid jonker and decided to set them to music with the accompaniment of a string quartet.

Rodney Trudgeon invited Nicky Shrire into the People of Note studio to talk about this production and to hear more about Ingrid Jonker and also about Nicky’s exciting career as a musician.
