Welcome to the weekly Celtic Corner on OFM, where we will keep you up to date with the latest news and developments within the Phunya Sele Sele camp.

It was a week of mixed fortunes for Celtic in the Premier Soccer League with the team having played two games at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town.

On Tuesday, Celtic, made a big statement by beating the high-flying Cape Town City FC 1-0 to see the team climbed to sixth in the PSL standings.
The win came via a 67th minute Kabelo Mahlasela goal.

On Saturday Siwelele returned to the very same field, however, were beaten 2-1 by Ajax Cape Town, to see the Urban Warriors returning to winning ways.

Bantu Mzwakali opened the scoring 37th minute, before Tashreeq Morris doubled the lead on the hour mark.

Celtic only managed to get on the board via an Isaac Nhlapo own goal some 7 minutes later.

While the result didn’t count in the favour of the Free State side, other teams did them favours and thus they retain their sixth place in the standings.

It’s another big week for Celtic as they host the 2016 runners-up, SuperSport United, in the opening round of the Telkom Knockout.
