It was back to reality for the Toyota Gazoo Racing South Africa Team in Stage 4 of the Dakar Rally.

All three crews suffered serious misfortunes during the 330km trek - experiencing punctures and stoppages along the way. Giniel de Villiers explains.

Stage 5 sees the teams head to Arequipa - and navigator Dirk von Zitzewitz expects things to be even tougher today.

Al Attiyah is In 4th position - 58 minutes and .48 seconds behind overall leader Stephane peterhansel, ten brink is 5th with de Villiers in 8th place.
