It was an emotional day at the Ebenhezer Community Outreach centre in Virginia yesterday where family members of those that died in the Shosholoza train accident that took place outside Kroonstad earlier this month gathered. Prasa spokesperson Sipho Sithole confirmed to OFM News that 19 of the 21 bodies had been positively identified by forensic pathologists. Two of the bodies will, however, still need to be tested. The bodies of the deceased are still at the Kroonstad morgue. The families were also consulted regarding the burial processes and that Prasa will be carrying the costs. Social workers and paramedics were on constant standby to assist emotional family members. Meanwhile, the Free State MEC for Police Roads and Transport told OFM news that it was not an easy process to identify the bodies. - Mark Steenbok/OFM News
