Bloem restaurant robbers still at large

Free State police are searching for three suspects in connection with a business robbery that took place at a restaurant in Bloemfontein last night. Police spokesperson Masilela Langa explains four suspects attempted to hijack a car at about 22:30. They allegedly shot at the driver, who later managed to fled the scene. The suspects thereafter went to a restaurant at the Bloemgate Shopping complex where they pointed a firearm at the manager and the customers. He says while the robbery was taking place two of the suspects managed to hijack another vehicle. Langa says they later managed to flee the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect is expected to appear in the local Magistrates court on Monday. The police is currently investigating a case of business robbery, attempted murder and hijacking. Langa appealed to anyone with information, which will lead to the arrest of the three suspects, to contact their nearest police station. - Mark Steenbok/OFM News
