Celtic Corner - 13 February 2018

Bloemfontein Celtic has done it again by knocking the defending champions, SuperSport United, out of a cup competition in the first round. This time they advanced to the round of 16 in the Nedbank Cup by beating Matsatsantsa A Pitori on penalties at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.
During the Telkom Knockout earlier in the season, Celtic also beat SuperSport on penalties in the first round at the Slaughterhouse, and ultimately went on to face Wits in the final in December.
The match on Sunday went into extra time and a penalty shootout, however, Celtic should have won the game in regulation time.
The hosts came out guns blazing and with a lot of intensity in the opening stanza, and it took them just 17 minutes to earn their first opportunity. Onismor Bhasera fouled Menzi Masuku for a penalty to be awarded, however, Mbhazima Rikhotso's shot was saved by debutant goalkeeper, Thakasani Mbanjwa.
