Suspects found in possession of ivory in Rustenburg

Two suspects have been denied bail, and will be appearing in the Bafokeng Magistrate Court again in Tlhabane, Rustenburg next week . This comes after five suspects were arrested on Tuesday for being in the possession of ivory. Police spokesperson, Amanda Funani, says three suspects were released due to insufficient evidence. Funani says police responded to a tip-off about the illegal sale of ivory. Police raided the house in Lefaragatlhe where the suspects were found with two elephant tusks with an estimated value of R600 000.
