We have reached the last eight of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and for the next two days we can expect nothing less than thrilling football.
The weekends’ action kicks off this afternoon already when the La Celeste of Uruguay face the Les Blues of France in Nizhny Novgorod.
Uruguay are fielding arguably their best team at the event since they won the inaugural World Cup in Montevideo in 1930, and then beat Brazil 2-1 in 1950 at the famous Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro for their second and last title.
The Skies Blues opened their campaign with a last 1-0 win over the Pharaohs of Egypt, then claimed had-fought 1-0 win over the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia, before finishing at the top of Group A with a 3-0 drubbing of the hosts Russia.
