The Department of Education in North West says it saddened by the death of a 16-year-old Grade 9 pupil in Boitumelong Township in Bloemhof, who was allegedly killed by a mob of taxi drivers. Spokesperson Freddy Sepeng says the pupil was reportedly not part of the gang, which the angry mob was targeting, but was merely walking down the street when he was snatched and beaten. He later died at a local clinic. Violence again erupted in this area during the week with residents allegedly attacking suspected gang members. Meanwhile, police spokesperson Amanda Funani Tells says that no one has yet been arrested for the murders thus far reported in the area.
