From load shedding to empowering woman in agriculture

South Africa’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) can increase by eight trillion over the next ten years if an innovation mind-set is followed. This is according to Ntombi Mhangwani, director of marketing at Accenture in Africa, who recently released the Getting to Equal 2019 report. The report shows South African employees' innovative thinking is six times higher in a workplace that has a robust equality culture. This is significantly higher than the innovative thinking of their peers who work in an environment where there is gender inequality. She says this also applies to the agricultural industry as about 50% of the sub-Saharan African labour force consists of women. OFM News’ Christal-Lize Muller spoke to her
