or the first edition of People of Note for 2020, Rodney Trudgeon has decided to repeat an edition of the programme done some years ago which created great interest at the time and in fact many listeners have asked us to repeat it. The interview was with JOHN HAMER who is a senior pilot in Cape Town Harbour and who has had the experience of guiding massive ships into the harbour in all sorts of weather conditions, including the iconic Queen Mary 2. John talks not only about the job of a pilot in the harbour but also about the unique topography of Table Bay.
