Less than a month after 40-year-old Freddy Goodman succumbed to Covid-19 on January 8, virtual strangers from around the world raise more than a R120000 for his family. The financial burden started when Goodman's event planning business in Plettenberg Bay was affected the global pandemic. The family - his high school sweetheart Jana, eight-year-old son, Tristan and one-year-old daughter, Amelia - is further financially strained by his death. A friend, Elisabeth Wenz started a backabuddy campaign to help them out. The target was R100000. Within days the target was exceeded with donations from Germany, Switzerland and strangers back home.
