Schalk van der Merwe is 'n leerder van Grey College in Bloemfontein. Hierdie Desember wil hy graag visvang, dit is sy eerste liefde. Maar die jaar moes hy self die fondse bymekaar maak om tydens die lang skoolvakansie sy visvang drome te kan verwesenlik. Sy teken talent het hy by sy ma, bekende skilder, Marcia van der Merwe, gekry. Hy vertel watse tipe sketse hy graag teken en wat sy planne vir die toekoms behels.
