Small-scale cattle farmers often lack critical information about animal health care. This includes knowledge about vaccinations, dipping, deworming, and general livestock management. Without this information, farmers tend to react to crises rather than practice preventative care, leading to higher mortality rates and lower productivity.
According to Beefmaster Group’s animal health specialist, King Ramokala, these small-scale farmers often don’t possess enough information pertaining to animal health care. This includes vaccinations, dipping, and deworming, and usually results in farmers reacting to a crisis like their livestock getting sick.
