Jy het ‘n groter besef van God nodig

Jou interne beeld van God bepaal hoe jy alles anders sien. Die meerderheid van ons probleme is nie ‘n produk van omstandighede nie, maar as gevolg van ons uitkyk. Ons kan ons grootste probleme na ‘n onvoldoende begrip van wie God is, terugspoor. God sê: ‘Want soos die hemel hoër is as die aarde, so is wat Ek doen, hoër as wat julle doen, en my gedagtes is hoër as julle gedagtes.’ ‘n Bekende skrywer lig ons in: ‘Sterrekundiges het sterrestelsels 12,3 biljoen ligjare van die aarde af bespied. Om daardie afstand in perspektief te plaas, oorweeg die feit dat lig wat teen 186 000 myl per sekonde beweeg, slegs agt minute neem om die 93 miljoen myl tussen die son en planeet aarde af te lê. Sonlig is net agt minute oud. Lig van die verste sterrestelsel neem egter 12,3 biljoen ligjare om hier te kom. Daardie afstand is feitlik onverstaanbaar. God sê dit is minder as die afstand tussen sy gedagtes en ons gedagtes. Jou beste gedagte oor God op jou beste dag skiet 12,3 biljoen ligjare tekort van hoe groot en hoe goed God werklik is. Miskien is dit tyd om op te hou om vierdimensionele perke op God te plaas. Miskien is dit tyd om op te hou om God in ‘n boks so groot soos jou serebrale korteks te plaas.’ Hoe meer ons groei, hoe groter moet God word. Hoe groter God word, hoe kleiner sal ons probleme word. Die gesangskrywer Oscar C. Eliason het geskryf: ‘Got any rivers you think are uncrossable? Got any mountains you can’t tunnel through? God specializes in things thought impossible. He can do just what none other can do.’
