Doen jy wat jy veronderstel is om te doen?
In sy boek, How Successful People Grow, identifiseer John Maxwell drie tipes mense: ‘1) Mense wat nie weet wat hulle graag wil doen nie. Hulle het nie doelwitte nie. Hulle vroetel. Hulle dryf rond. Hulle het geen idee waarvoor om te mik nie. Ek glo die hoofrede is dat hulle hulself nie so goed ken soos hulle behoort nie en dus bly hulle ongefokus in hul groei. 2) Mense wat weet wat hulle graag sal wil doen maar dit nie doen nie. Soms doen hulle nie wat hulle graag wil doen nie, omdat hulle bekommerd is dat hulle ander verantwoordelikhede sal afskeep, soos om vir hul families te voorsien. Soms is hulle nie gewillig om die prys te betaal om te leer, te groei en nader aan waar hulle wil wees te beweeg nie. Ander kere weerhou vrees hulle daarvan om van koers te verander en hulle passie na te jaag. 3) Mense wat weet wat hulle graag wil doen en dit doen. Hierdie mense leef die volgende Skrifgedeelte uit: ‘Hy het ons in ons verhouding met Christus Jesus só gemaak dat ons die goeie werke wat Hy vir ons bestem het, kan uitlewe.’ Die derde tipe mense ken hulself, het ‘n sterk passie, is op hulle doelwit gefokus, groei in areas wat hulle help om nader aan hulle doel te beweeg en doen wat hulle geskep is om te doen. Dit kan moeilik wees om jouself te vind en in jou potensiaal in te groei. Jy moet weet wie jy is om in jou potensiaal in te groei. Jy moet egter groei om sodoende te weet wie jy is.’ Die oplossing daarvoor is om tyd met God te bestee en Hom toe te laat om jou te lei.
