Hoe om die vrees vir mislukking te oorkom
Elke geleentheid in die lewe bring twee dinge mee: die moontlikheid om sukses te behaal; of die moontlikheid om te misluk. Wanneer jy die einde van jou lewe bereik, sal jou grootste spyt nie oor jou mislukkings wees nie, maar oor die geleenthede wat jy nie aangegryp het nie omdat jy bang was om te misluk. Hier is ‘n paar beginsels om jou te help om die vrees vir mislukking te oorkom: 1) Wees gewillig om te probeer en te misluk. Wanneer dit gebeur, vertel mense daarvan. Hoekom? Omdat jy dan sal agterkom dat mislukking nie noodlottig is nie. 2) Vind ‘n projek wat so groot is dat jy dit nie sonder God se hulp kan aanpak nie en wy jouself dan daaraan toe. 3) Bring tyd saam met impulsiewe mense deur. Let op hoe hulle risiko’s neem. Deur te sien en na te boots is ‘n goeie manier om te leer. 4) Die manier om te leer hoe om groot treë in geloof te neem, is deur klein treë in geloof te neem. Komplimenteer iemand wat jy nie ken nie. Wees gewillig om ‘n addisionele taak by die werk aan te pak. Gaan uit jou pad om iemand in nood te help. 5) Verklaar oorlog teen perfeksionisme. In plaas daarvan om te wag tot jy dit perfek kan doen, doen jou bes en sê vir jouself: ‘Dis goed genoeg vir nou.’ 6) Wees bang maar gehoorsaam God in elk geval. Jy sal nooit jou vrese totaal oorwin nie, maar jy kan dit verminder tot waar dit minder beheer oor jou lewe het. Hier is ‘n belofte waarop jy kan staan: ‘Die Here bepaal die rigting van ‘n mens, en met sý lewe is Hy tevrede. Al sou so een struikel, hy sal nie val nie, want die Here hou sy hand vas’ (verse 23-24 NLV).
