The MEC for the Department of Community Safety, Security, and Liaison, Jackie Macie, says they are going to increase the number of police officials at Vosman Police Station as part of the department's plan to combat GBVF in eMalahleni.
He says one of the reasons Vosman is rated high with GBVF and murder cases in the country is because of overpopulation by people seeking employment opportunities.
This comes after the Mpumalanga Premier, Mandla Ndlovu, launched the 16 days of activism against GBVF at Edward Matyeka Primary School in eMalahleni today.
Macie says the society must work together with the police to fight against GBVF because it is hard to police GBVF cases.
He says the Vosman police station is unable to manage the crime around the area.
