Quick FAQ
Do you offer a free trial ?
Yes you can start a 14-day free streaming trial. All core features are available during the trial. Paid add-ons are only available after activation.
Can someone discuss my requirements ?
Our sales team is always ready to help understand your needs and how our platform could provide value to you. Use the "Contact sales" button below to start the discussion.
What do I need to start streaming?
You need a radio stream to send into our platform for processing and distribution.
Can you help me to get set up ?
During the trial period our support team will work with your technical staff to:
- Help configure software to correctly send the stream to us,
- Setup and explain our monitoring and alerting features,
- Explain options and features to ensure maximum reliability for your stream.
Can I change or cancel my plan ?
All our packages are available on monthly pricing and can be upgraded, downgraded or cancelled at any time.
Which payment methods are available ?
Our default payment option is automated recurring card payment which accepts Visa, Mastercard and others. By request we can also enable manual invoicing. We accept credit card, Paypal or SWIFT transfers for manual invoicing.
Which currencies are supported?
We can invoice customers in USD, GBP, EUR or ZAR. For all currencies except ZAR exchange rates apply at the time of payment. ZAR customers include 15% VAT.
Can I get an annual discount ?
We offer a 10% discount on non-metered items for annual payments. Annual payment only available on manual invoicing.
Why are there multiple bitrates ?
We automatically create different bitrates for all streams. Our packages have a standard quality profile that works for the majority of listeners and a lower bitrate version for slow or expensive connections.
Why are there multiple formats ?
We also deliver streams in multiple formats to ensure maximum compatibility for all listeners. This includes HLS/AAC, Icecast/AAC and Icecast/MP3 for old devices.
Why don't we use 256k or 320k bitrates ?
These super high bitrates provide no real improvement in sound quality to listeners, but require a lot more data to listen. They became popular in the early days of MP3, but modern codecs like AAC have made them unnecessary.
For AAC even “expert” ears cannot discern the difference between the compressed version and the original at 160k or less.
How does dual inputs work ?
Send your stream to two different endpoints, allowing automatic fallback when one stream is down.
This allows using redundant hardware or software at the station and even using a different ISP or network connection for ultimate redundancy.Where will users listen to my radio stream?
We recommend that customers embed our customisable web player on their website. But there are many other ways to listen:
- Our website has a dedicated page for your stream.
- Our streams can be syndicated via TuneIn and other syndicators.
- Our optional mobile app is a dedicated space for your stream (and podcasts).
